Any questions before coming? Or after you've left?
Looking for information about how we work?
Wonderful! We answer you here!
How do I make an appointment?
The best way to make an appointment is to come and see us directly at the shop so that we can talk together about your tattoo, its location, its symbolism, the style you want, look together for an appointment date, have you fill in the consent contract and deposit the €50 deposit to block the appointment (deducted from the final price).
It's best to come between 12 and 2pm or after 5pm, as we're more available. If you already know which tattoo artist you'd like to work with, don't hesitate to contact him directly via his Insta or his e-mail !
I don't live in the area and I can't come to the shop to talk about the project, what can I do?
If you absolutely can't make it to the Fat Cat Tattoo Shop, no problem! You can send a e-mail directly to the shop or the tattooist of your choice to discuss your project! To make sure it's as quick as possible, you'll need to send us :
- the style you like (with a few reference images to back it up),
- the size in cm you are considering
- where do you want it
- a phone number in case we need to talk in person!
We'll get back to you as soon as possible. !
Deposits, prices and payments... ?
To book a tattoo appointment, we'll ask you a deposit. This deposit secures your appointment and covers the realization of the design. It is then deducted from the final cost of the project. In case the project is lasting several sessions, it will be deducted only from the final session.
If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment. Any absence not notified 48 hours before the session will result in the loss of your deposit!
Project costs vary according to different factors, such as size, style, colors, complexity, location, etc.
If you wish to pay in instalments, no problem ! You can pay several deposits of any amount at intervals of weeks/months before your appointment, until the full amount is paid on the day 😁
For the time being we only accept cash,we don't take credit Card yet!
Please note that the minimum price for a tattoo in France is €80. This covers the cost of the needle and equipment, as well as working and drawing time.
How's my project coming along?
Your project will be ready for the big day, of course!
As we work on iPads, the size, modifications (if necessary / feasible) will be seen on D-day with your tattooist. Following various mishaps, we've decided to stop sending drawings in advance 🥲, we prefer in person, it's simpler, friendlier and much quicker than exchanging details by e-mail!
However, for larger projects, your tattoo artist may ask you to drop by the shop to check the design, location, size, etc... so as not to waste too much time on the day of the tattoo !
What about accompanying persons?
You can come to the shop with someone, but for reasons of hygiene and so as not to distract the tattoo artists, you won't be able to enter the technical room.
They'll have to wait either in the waiting room (where there's WiFi, a tic-tac-toe, comics, books, magazines and, above all, draw beautiful pictures on the magic slate 😎 ), or by taking a walk around town!
We're a 10-minute walk from Jean Médecin and 5 minutes from the pedestrian zone and the sea! So... a book, a towel, some sun cream and off you go, sunbathing until you get out of your tattoo session!
Project refusals
Whaaat? Well, yes... we see tattooing as a collaboration where everyone has to be comfortable with the project, tattooist and tattoo artist alike.
So we reserve the right to refuse tattoos for a variety of reasons, mainly in the interests of the client. Here are a few of them:
- We do not tattoo minors, even with parental consent.
- If the project does not correspond at all to our style. Of course, if possible, we'll refer you to a colleague.
- We do not tattoo hateful, offensive or illegal motifs.
- We don't tattoo mouths, eyes, eyebrows... this is a beautician's job, using specific equipment and inks that have nothing to do with artistic tattooing.
Waiting times
It may take a little time to get an appointment with us, usually between 1 and 4 weeks. This varies according to the complexity of your project, the length of the session and, of course, the compatibility of the schedule between the future tattooed person and the tattoo artist!
Delays, cancellations and rescheduling!
As specified in "Deposits, prices and payments..." in the event of cancellation or rescheduling you must give us 48 hours' notice!
“I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"
It happens!
You must, of course, let us know via Insta (the at the shop or on your tattooist's direct Insta) or by calling the shop in case of delay due to parking, bus, streetcar, train, boat, space shuttle or other, so that we won't fall into a conspiracy theory not seeing you arriving... 🤨 ... 👽 !
*Cough cough*... I think I'm sick 🤧
So let us know as soon as possible if you have any symptoms or doubts, so that we can reschedule your appointment!
In any case:
- If you like, you can ask us for a face mask - we always have some at the shop!
- Disinfect your hands with the hydro gel at the entrance to the shop.
Getting ready for my tattoo
To prepare for your tattoo session, like a champion, you need to
- wear black, loose-fitting clothes so that you're comfortable and we don't stain pretty clothes... yes, because ink stains and doesn't come off easily! So it's a good idea to bring special clothes for your tattoo! Depending on the area tattooed, you may want to consider a more sports bra or one with a front closure, a swimsuit, sports shorts or, if you don't know, ask your tattoo artist!
- get a good night's sleep
- eat a good breakfast or lunch, and plan a sweet snack for during and/or after your session
- don't drink alcohol the night before (a glass or two, but that's a maximum!), nor smoke or take any funny things
- don't take any blood-thinning medication the day before (aspirin-type)
- don't irritate, damage or overstress the area that we're going to tattoo (avoid scrubs, waxing, hurting yourself like you did when you were 4, etc.)
Is it ok... ?
Yes, it's ok and no matter what your gender is :
- to ask us to move the stencil
- to ask to change clothes in private
- to take the time you need to hide your chest
- to ask for a break if you're in too much pain or feeling unwell
- to use your headphones to relax
- to talk
- to keep quiet
We have the following available for our customers (and don't hesitate to ask) :
- water 🥤
- sweet drinks 🧃
- tea and coffee ☕️
- Snacks 🍪
- sunglasses (to protect yourself from our lamps 🔥😎)
- face masks if needed
Tattoo care!
The good healing of your tattoo will depend mostly on the care you provide during the healing process, so we've put the tattoo care protocol back here in case you need it!
After my Tattoo !
Two options :
- Normal plastic film: keep on for 30 minutes to a maximum of 3 hours! Wash well and follow the daily care protocol that will follow.
- The "second skin" film: if it hasn't peeled off by itself and you don't have any lymph bubbles, remove the film around 24 - 78 hours after the end of the tattoo session. To remove it properly (without it turning out to be a waxing session), peel off a corner and run a little room temperature water over it to swell it up. Wash well with a pH-neutral soap and follow the daily care protocol that will follow.
Then leave it to breathe without cream for 24h-48h (depending on your skin).
3 weeks' daily care
Clean your tattoo with tepid water and pH-neutral soap, morning and evening, massaging gently with your hand. Rinse and air-dry, or pat dry with a paper towel or clean towel.
Then apply a healing cream* in a very thin layer, massaging gently into the area.
*Aloe Vera / Epitheliale A.H Ultra de A-derma / Cicatryl ou toute crème adaptée aux blessures cutanées et tattoos WITHOUT zinc. Also avoid creams containing antiseptics, as they may be too aggressive.
Amount of cream :
The equivalent of a grain of rice or a small pea must be well, WELL absorbed into the skin. You don't want the skin to feel sticky with cream 10 minutes after application. If it happens, wipe off the excess with a paper towel.
When :
Every 24-72 hours depending on skin needs!
Like a plant 🪴 we don't drown it, we don't suffocate it, but we don't let it die of thirst either!
The skin needs to dry (breathe) in order to heal properly, and the cream only allows it to regain its elasticity; healing occurs naturally and independently of the cream. If the skin is over-hydrated, there's a risk of inflammation, and we want to avoid that ☝️🔥
If you forget to apply cream, it's ABSOLUTELY not a problem. ! Don't use twice as much to compensate or you risk damaging the tattoo! (cfr. previous message, inflammation etc)
Instructions to follow during the healing phase:
- Regarding sports, nothing that involves the tattooed area for 1 week. The skin is healing and therefore fragile.
- Always wash your hands before touching the tattoo.
- Do not touch or scratch the tattoo. Do NOT remove any scabs or skin that may appear, but leave to heal normally.
- Itching should be soothed by applying the cream.
- No bathing, swimming, sauna, hammam, sea, sun or UV rays for 3 weeks.
- Depending on the tattoo and its placement, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing.
Tattoo Care after Healing
Once the tattoo has completely healed, and in order to preserve its color and brightness over time, we strongly advise you to moisturize it regularly and protect it with a "sunblock" during prolonged exposure to the sun.
Touch-ups
Healing is a random process and a touch-up are sometimes necessary, so don't worry, it's included in the price!
Once the healing month is over, contact your tattoo artist or send him an e-mail / Dm Insta with a photo so that he can check your tattoo and see if any touch-ups are necessary.
À savoir que la retouche est gratuite si faite dans les 2 mois après la séance !
